The breakout color of the Grammys red carpet: Pink

Rihanna's presence was felt at the Grammy's last night despite her last-minute cancellation. Always the trend setter, her voluminous, pink Giambattista Valli gown from last year seems to have permeated the Grammy dreams of fellow artists, who walked this year's red carpet decked in the unexpected color.

Or they weren't ready to stop celebrating Valentine's Day, and planned their outfits accordingly. Either way, we're not complaining.

The color was a jolt amidst the sea of black, and perfect for the more relaxed and playful attitude of the Grammys. We even appreciated it on male guests, though Sam Hunt could pretty much wear anything and still turn heads. His pale Dolce & Gahanna was a breath of fresh air.

Ellie Goulding was also dreamy in a Stella McCartney slip that worked beautifully with her rosy skin and tousled hair. The metal detailing on the back and Bvlgari jewels added the perfect amount of bling.

Florence Welch went with a dusty pink Gucci gown with star appliqués, which perfectly captured her vintage, romantic style.

Tori Kelly accentuated her emerald green Gauri and Nainika gown with light pink jewels from Irene Neuwirth and a matching clutch.

Then there was Taylor, showing off her model figure in a two-piece from Atelier Versace, overshadowing poor Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town who would have stood out on any other night.
