Watch Shia LaBeouf hang out in an elevator for 24 hours
He's at it again!
Last time we hung out with Shia LaBeouf, it was at his crazy — and surprisingly sweet — #ALLMYMOVIES project, where he watched his movies in reverse-chronological order and livestreamed the whole thing.
Now, for his new #ELEVATE stunt, he's filming himself in more cramped quarters. Ahead of a talk at Oxford University on Tuesday, LaBeouf — joined by collaborators Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner — will livestream from inside an elevator for 24 hours, with a second 24-hour session for the day following the talk.
"Visitors will be able to join LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner inside the elevator during this time, and are invited to address the artists, the debating chamber, and the internet, so that their collective voices may form an extended, expansive and egalitarian Oxford Union address," reads the video description.
There's live video and audio for your viewing pleasure:
Here's what happened while we were watching:
- Shia compared this new stunt to his #ALLMYMOVIES: "The other weird is like, its a different kind of weird ... [#ALLMYMOVIES] was probably more weird just because it's so unnatural. You're in an elevator all the time."
- He described (to multiple visitors) how he met his two collaborators — by writing them fan letters.
- He's thrilled that his new projects make art more accessible. "Talking about art theory is (expletive) depressing. This is the first time I've felt like part of the conversation ... We had a bro-y conversation about art, and it's never been like that."
- He complained about Tinder.
- He got kind of dark. "The worst bet I ever lost -- something with my dad or something," before hinting at a much more complicated relationship.
- He fielded requests from bros asking to hear his "inspirational message."
- He filmed a video for Oxford's football team, who were currently midway through a match. "Go (expletive) get it. You better win."
- He shared his key to success: "Just jumping in."
