The Lonely Island movie reveals an unstoppable title and poster
Our Saturday Night Live shows have been lonely without The Lonely Island to spruce up the sketches with their wonderfully weird musical digital shorts.
But the musical comedy trio will be coming back to our screens -- this time on the big screen in their first full-length feature this summer.
Andy Samberg, SNL alum and frontman for The Lonely Island, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to reveal the movie's title and poster, which until now had been announced. Drumroll...you ready? It's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
The movie will be produced by Judd Apatow and will hit theaters June 3. The movie is co-directed by Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone and written by The Lonely Island trio. In a comedy set in the music industry, Samberg will be playing a singer/rapper named Connor 4Real (yes, really) who "faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops" according to Universal.
Samberg said on Kimmel that there was some deliberation on the title -- "I pitched them Gremlins 3, but they said no" -- but Jimmy Kimmel agreed that the current one was perfectly Bieber-iffic.
