Good news: Kesha's working on new music
Talk about someone with some serious source material for new music.
Kesha may still be signed with Dr. Luke's label, after a judge refused to break her contract with her former producer and alleged abuser. But that doesn't mean she's taking a break from writing.
She shared an encouraging update on her Instagram, letting her fans know that there's some new Kesha projects in the works.
It's the latest in a series of posts that show the singer working on new material. "I have so much to say right now?" We bet
Meanwhile, Kesha's legal team is busy appealing her court case, after she was denied a preliminary injunction releasing her from her contract with the producer and allowing her to record other music in February.
In an appeal filed last week, Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos compared her record contract to slavery. "Although [the court] recognized that 'slavery was done away with a long time ago' and that '[y]ou can't can't force someone to work ... in a situation in which they don't want to work,' the Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that."
As the case continues to play out in court, let's hope Kesha's creativity continues to flow.
