The petition worked: Snoop Dogg debuts 'Planet Earth'-like web series
The animal kingdom can be a bewildering place. Thankfully, we now have a world-renowned authority to shed light on the complex interactions of wildlife: Snoop Dogg.
The rapper-turned-entrepreneur premiered his web series, Planet Snoop, on his cannabis and culture site, Merry Jane, on Thursday. As evidenced by the first installment, Squirrel vs. Snake, the Doggfather will help elucidate some of nature's greatest mysteries, like how a squirrel could beat a snake: "If he can bust a nut, you know he can bust a snake head open, no problem!"
Planet Snoop is based on Snoop's Plizzanet Earth, a parody of the Emmy Award-winning BBC nature series, Planet Earth, and a joint venture with Jimmy Kimmel. The viral late-night segments traded David Attenborough's plummy analysis for Snoop's blunt commentary and inspired a Planet Earth petition that went on to amass more than 65,000 signatures, which was apparently enough to get Snoop back in the narrator chair.
Dope work, Internet.
