Jennifer Hudson, James Corden remix public domain ditties
These aren't your classic kid songs. E-I-E-I-Oh, no.
Because life in the Carpool Karaoke lane can be expensive, James Corden had to find a way to pinch some pennies on The Late Late Show Monday.
"I love singing well-known songs, right? I do," Corden started out. "And, if there's one thing CBS doesn't love, it's me spending money on the rights to those songs."
So how did the late night host get to duet with Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson if there was no Groupon for song rights in sight? He went with tunes that are in the public domain. Skip to My Lou, London Bridge Is Falling Down, and Old MacDonald Had a Farm were given new life and just as entertaining as today's more expensive hits.
