5 things we learned from the third 'Suicide Squad' trailer

The third trailer for Suicide Squad dropped Sunday, and we are here for it. The winking comedy and rock music soundtrack that we loved in the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer is back in "Blitz," which features a whole lot more Joker. But don't worry, your favorite "worst heroes ever" are still in the spotlight.

Here are our five most important takeaways from the latest Suicide Squad trailer.

1. Harley reunites with her iconic hammer

Her weapon of choice may be a bat, but we can't have a shot of Harley Quinn without her trusty giant hammer.

She debuted inBatman: The Animated Series wielding a cartoonishly giant mallet, and in the various iterations of her in comics, video games and cartoons, she's rarely seen without it. Alas, it seems that the Harley of Suicide Squad relies more on a baseball bat and gun, but at least we got this shot in the "Blitz" trailer.

2. Will Smith's Deadshot may only kill bad guys

The inscription on Deadshot's firearm says "I am the light," which seems to indicate that he has convinced himself he kills for a righteous cause. And the noble villains only kills bad guys, or at least feels really bad about it when he kills innocents.

Smith has mentioned before that Deadshot has to "justify (killing people for money) for himself." This may be the way he does it.

3. Batman shows up a lot in Suicide Squad

More than we initially thought, at least. While he's present in the scene we've seen before of the Joker and Harley Quinn leading him on a car chase through the streets of Gotham, there are several shots of him diving into water or through windows. Presumably to save all the Martha's of the world.

4. Joker has a million costume changes

Well, maybe not a million, but it's definitely more outfits than Heath Ledger's Joker wore in The Dark Knight. This implies that a lot of the Joker's scenes will be in flashback, possibly multiple flashbacks -- lending even more credence to the hints that Harley Quinn's origin will take center stage in Suicide Squad.

And in another nod to the comics, there's a quick shot of the Joker with half his face burnt, perhaps a reference to the New 52's Joker, in which he is burned and shot.

5. Enchantress is not in the initial Suicide Squad line-up

In the photos of the Squad members that Amanda Waller presents to government officials, Enchantress is not included. Neither are Rick Flagg or Katana. We know that Rick is the one U.S. government operative leading the group, while there are theories that Katana is Flagg's bodyguard. It makes sense considering Katana was never a bad guy in the comics in the first place.

But what of Enchantress, who is definitely a villain but seems to have freer reign than the others? She may have a special relationship to Flagg as well, or her human counterpart, June Moon, may join the squad in an attempt to make some good out of being possessed by a vengeful witch.

Another note: Slipknot is seen in this line-up and at the beginning when the members are brought together. Do we see him possibly trying to escape and getting killed in the process?
