Clooney remembers when Trump called him 'very short'
Though George Clooney spent the weekend supporting Hillary Clinton-- he hosted two campaign fundraisers for the Democratic candidate-- he couldn't help but answer a question about Donald Trump in an interview that aired Sunday on Meet the Press.
Host Chuck Todd asked Clooney if he'd ever interacted with Trump.
"I've met him once. I was sitting down at a table and he was nice. And we talked a couple of times, I think. And then he went on 'Larry King' and told everybody I was very short," said Clooney, laughing.
In his defense, Clooney said, "I met you sitting down."
As for names Clooney has called Trump, Todd noted that the actor had referred to the politician as a "xenophobic fascist."
"I hope I'm quoting you correctly," said Todd. "I think you're pretty close," said Clooney.
In his TV interview, Clooney also discussed the "obscene amount of money" that his political dinners raised. Fortunately, the topic of Trump's hand size was not raised.
