Caitlyn Jenner apologizes to Kris on 'I Am Cait'

It's never too late to say sorry.

Sunday's I Am Cait began with the one-on-one conversation between Caitlyn and Kris Jenner that took place in Kris' New Orleans hotel room. Last week, we saw the matriarch toss some beads over a balcony and a few drinks back with Caitlyn and her girlfriends.

When Caitlyn said that she was the happiest that'd she'd been in her life, Kris reminded her that there were still things going on at home that were not so great. "You know, Lamar (Odom) is so sick -- so sick," she said. "And, he's not really getting better, and it's really bad." Kris said referring to her son-in-law's touch and go hospitalization last year. Khloé Kardashian and Odom are still legally married.

The momager then detailed issues that her other children were going through. Khloé and Kendall Jenner both got sick. A few months prior, Kourtney Kardashian broke up with the father of her three children, Scott Disick, and Kim Kardashian was experiencing pregnancy complications with her son, Saint.

Kris said Caitlyn had kind of checked out through these incidents and that was her motivation for planning a trip. Caitlyn acknowledged that she could certainly disconnect. She also informed Kris that she had the gender marker changed on her driver's license and birth certificate, and soon that her passport would be updated as well. While Caitlyn was very happy about this announcement, Kris seemed caught off guard.

"That's kind of sad, though." she said. "Wait a second... Does this mean that he didn't exist if you changed the birth certificate? Wait, was I ever married? Was I legally married?"

Caitlyn said she was and that being able to express herself fully has made her a softer person. She also apologized to Kris for the way that she behaved in the last few years. "I never was able to have privacy to be myself," Caitlyn said. "I think over the last couple of years you were frustrated with me. I was frustrated with myself. And, so I just want to apologize. I think for a lot of the times the way I acted, didn't have to be that way. I think going forward from here, I would always want you in my life." Caitlyn reiterated her desire to build a solid relationship with Kris. "I would hope that our relationship going forward, although very different, can be a really good relationship. That's my wish."

"And that's everything, and that's why I'm here," Kris said. "I came to check up on you 'cause I still love you, and the kids adore you."

In an on-camera interview, Kris seemed overjoyed for Caitlyn. "Life is starting to be what I feel like she's always wanted it to be, and that makes me happy too." Later, it was also revealed that Kris invited Caitlyn to her annual Christmas Eve party.

Another Keeping Up with the Kardashians star made an appearance on Sunday's I Am Cait. Disick came to help Caitlyn pick out a Christmas tree. She reached out because she didn't want him to be alone during the holidays as both of his parents are deceased.

When Caitlyn asked Disick if he and Kourtney would ever reconcile, he admitted that would be the ideal scenario. "(At the) end of the day, I would love to see us work everything out, and be in love again, and watch movies together and be intimate, and love each other and be best friends. But, I also don't want to just rush into something that doesn't make sense."

At Caitlyn's home, Disick helped set up the tree and assisted in replacing the batteries of a smoke detector. The two, who previously had a hard time bonding, seemed to be building a great relationship.

Caitlyn welcomed another guest into her home on Sunday's episode, Dr. Marci Bowers, a transgender woman and friend of Jenny Boylan's who performs gender confirmation surgery. Last week, Caitlyn said that it was likely that she wouldn't have a relationship with a man prior to having surgery. While she admitted to previously being uncomfortable talking about the issue, she had a lot of questions for Dr. Bowers and felt the conversation really helped her.

"I have no idea what the future holds, but it is really interesting to talk about this issue with a doctor that's intelligent obviously, (who has) been doing this for years," she said. "There's a lot of questions to be answered in my future."

And we'll be along for the ride. I Am Cait airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on E!.
