Lupita Nyong'o has Whoville hair for Met Gala

Update: Lupita Nyong’o has posted a video of the real inspiration for her Met Gala hairstyle in a post on Instagram. Her hairstylist, Vernon Francois, also shared with Fader that the style was “greatly inspired by African Tribes, sculptured silhouettes and the strengths of textured hair."

Oscar-winning actress and fashion plate Lupita Nyong'o is used to making bold style choices. So when she dressed for the futuristic-fashion-themed 2016 Met Gala, she didn't have a low-key hairstyle.

Nyong'o seemed to channel the stylings of Whoville (the fictional Dr. Seussian town) with her gravity-defying 'do.

Another angle:

We wonder, what is going on underneath all of the hair to keep it up? How did she travel to the event with that on top of her head? Or, maybe those should just remain fashion mysteries.
