'KUWTK': Khloé Kardashian has anxiety about Lamar, Caitlyn meeting
On Sunday night, in addition to Keeping Up with the Kardashians, we also got to catch up with Lamar Odom.
The former baller for the L.A. Lakers accompanied Khloé Kardashian and her family to Kanye West's season 3 Yeezy fashion show at Madison Square Garden. It was Odom's first public appearance since being found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel last October.
While the episode aired, Kardashian shared her apprehension with her followers on Twitter.
Not only would this be Odom's first big outing, but it would also be the first time he would meet Caitlyn Jenner, who Kardashian hadn't spoken to since their big fight from the premiere episode.
Backstage before the fashion show started, Odom and Jenner embraced. "I love you, buddy," Jenner said. Odom said, "I love you too." "I'm so happy you're here," Jenner said. "Made my day."
Once it was time for the show to begin, the Kardashian/Jenner family found their seats, with the exception of Kanye and Odom who walked in underneath a spotlight as the crowd cheered.
Odom and Jenner met again over family dinner later that night. "Honestly, I was very emotional to see you there today," Jenner said. "All good stuff. Life's good isn't it?" she asked. "It's beautiful," Odom responded. "It beats the alternative."After the show, Odom talked to his estranged wife about his encounter with Jenner. "Caitlyn was in the spot tonight," he said. "How did that feel?" Kardashian asked. "Weird," Odom responded. "I called her Bruce the first couple sentences." "I mean (that's) understandable," Kardashian assured him.
After they met, Kardashian felt much more at ease. "I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders," she said in an on-camera interview. "Lamar and Caitlyn met, and I mean, he was super mellow and calm. I think I was way more nervous than he was. Lamar handled everything perfectly."
Kardashian also made up with Jenner and invited her on the plane back to L.A. where Kardashian and Odom made light of their troubled marriage when Kris Jenner brought up the fact that her friend, Melanie Griffith, married Don Johnson twice.
"If you're lucky that could be you, Lamar," Kardashian said. "I'll say my prayers," Odom said before making a sign of the cross. "We're definitely getting out of this marriage because it's been a little tainted," Kardashian said and the continued. "We need to cut our ties and we can figure it back out." Odom agreed.
To see what comes next for the family be sure to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on E!
