Nick Jonas, Meghan Trainor have (very different) 'Champagne Problems'

Everyone has champagne problems these days. Or so one would think looking at the track lists of several newly released albums.

Nick Jonas and Meghan Trainor are both suffering from some serious bougie issues -- which are usually annoying to hear about. But when these two share the everyday obstacles of living their luxurious lifestyles, it's damn catchy.

Who has the most distressing of trivial trials? We did a quick comparison.

Nick Jonas

Jonas' track Champagne Problems, released in April, is about drinking bubbly with a girlfriend while their relationship is on the rocks. And according to Jonas, there's only "one way to solve" his dilemma: "keep on drinking."

In this club banger, Jonas' problem -- the breakdown of his relationship -- is more than a mere high-class champagne problem. But, yes, we get the "champagne" pun, because he does have a problem and he is drinking champagne.

Meghan Trainor

Trainor's song Champagne Problems hit Apple Music last week. In the poppy dance song, she sings that she'll "drink up" all these first-world problems:

  • late Ubers
  • uncomfortable shoes
  • forgetting a jacket
  • uncooperative wifi
  • permanently dead iPhones

Compared to Jonas' pre-break-up troubles, Trainor's issues seem minor. And she knows it, singing "but I can't complain at all... life's too short for that."

On the other hand, we understand the complains. Indeed, her song about failed electronics and painful fashion choices accurately details some relatable "champagne problems."

Are you an artist looking to release your own Champagne Problems song? Here are a few lyrics to get you started: "Traffic's slow, gonna miss the show." There's: "Lunch was too small, already ate it all." Or, this classic, approximate rhyme: "Woke up too pee, can't fall back asleep."
