Jennifer Lawrence's meet-cute with Harrison Ford was 'humiliating'

Everybody knows Jennifer Lawrence, right? The Hunger Games and X-Men and Silver Linings Playbook and Joy and American Hustle etc etc etc star is always around, it seems, tripping or BFF-ing with Amy Schumer or spilling mints everywhere. But apparently if you're one of the biggest movie stars of all time and/or the director of the third-highest grossing movie of all time, you may have missed the JLaw memo.

Lawrence, who stopped by British talk show The Graham Norton Show in a segment that will air Friday, explained how her first encounter with Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams did not go particularly well.

Here's how it went down. Lawrence and her friend, British comedian Jack Whitehall, were out and about and spotted Ford and Abrams. The embarrassment just ensued from there.

"I probably humiliated myself more than ever before," Lawrence said on the show (via People). "I never assume anyone knows who I am, but when I spotted Harrison Ford and J.J. Abrams I was like, 'It'll be fine, we're all co-workers, right?'"

Apparently not.

"So I went up to them and started dancing like an idiot and the whole table just went quiet and stared at me. I realized while I am dancing that they had absolutely no idea who I was so I just turned around and walked back to Jack dying of embarrassment."

The best part of the story is that Ford actually knew who JLaw's friend was. Whitehall, who also is appearing on Norton, explained, "The funny thing was I had just done this show with Harrison and he is the only A-list Hollywood star I'd met. Jen had just been blanked and I was like, 'Hey, it's all right, I'll go and say hi to Harrison.' And literally as I walked over he stood up and shouted, 'Hey, Jack!' " It was so funny. It was probably the best night of my life and Jen's worst!"

Well, there are worse nights to have than not being recognized by Han Solo. Did we mention that time when she spilled the mints?

Oh, JLaw.
