Ne-Yo returns to 'Mindy Project,' Mindy, Jody get even closer

In The Greatest Date in the World, Marcus (played by Ne-Yo) treated Mindy to all of the finer things in life — basically like the places with the highest Yelp reviews. The best Chinese, the best vodka, the best bookstore — yes, Marcus made her leave the house to order books. She even had to rent a bike.

And, if you're wondering who was watching baby Leo during Mindy and Marcus' quests for the best, Mindy Kaling had your answer in 140 characters or less.

Also, on this week's episode of The Mindy Project, one of Dr. L's favorite patients, Eden, wanted to get pregnant. Only she wanted her baby daddy to be the guy that she's sleeping with but doesn't want to commit. Yup, Eden knows that guy too.

Mindy knew that sitch wasn't going to work out, so she might have tiptoed outside of her professional boundaries. But can you really blame a fashionable fertility specialist for only wanting the best for her patient? We can't, especially when she brought us these Mindy moments.

1. When she had a few restaurant suggestions

Hanging with Marcus definitely started to rub off on Mindy. "I am so sick of the basic (expletive) gen pop places where we order lunch," she said in a work meeting as she threw a large binder of take-out menus down.

Then, Mindy passed out some new menus to her co-workers, which certainly won't deliver anything hot and ready in 30 minutes or less since some of the establishments are three hours away. Oh, the hanger!

2. The reason she was banned from Panera Bread.

Even though the chain used to send her flowers on her birthday, Mindy said she's no longer allowed to eat at any locations after consuming "a long baguette in a lewd manner." Well, it is a pretty family-friendly place so maybe that is for the best.

3. When she accidentally got a second job

While she meant to push a button so Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves would play, she accidentally signed up to be an Uber driver. We wonder how investor/frequent subject of our aughts daydreams, Ashton Kutcher, would feel about this.

4. Her desired theme for Leo's birthday party

Oh, to see this Pinterest board. While explaining to Eden exactly how difficult raising a child with someone who you aren't in a relationship with is, she gave us the theme for our next birthday shindig.

"This morning, Danny and I had an hour-long fight over the theme of our son's birthday party," Mindy said. "He wanted baseball; I wanted leather and lace."

5. When she revealed how she got X-rays at lightning speed

To protect Eden, Mindy went to her sperm donor's house to vet him, without Eden's permission of course. When she found out, Eden was mad and asked for Jody Kimball-Kinney to handle her case going forward.

When Mindy confronted Jody in his office, he reminded Dr. L that she's not always aware of her boundaries.

"All I'm hearing is you overstepping your boundaries as you always do," Jody said. "Like when you inexplicably flashed Mark in radiology." "Yeah and now we get our X-rays like that—like that we get them," Mindy said. Admittedly, we didn't go to med school, but this seems like pretty sound logic.

And fans of Mindy or Jody — those are actually our best attempts at coming up with a couple's name, it's impossible for these two — will be happy to know that the good doctors made up.

Jody went to Mindy's place and apologized for saying hurtful things. Then they watched Cars, and Mindy fell asleep. Before he left, Jody brushed his fingers through Mindy's hair, and when he walked away, we could see that Mindy was actually awake.

Lahirey. Kinri. Nope, that's just awful. We'll workshop a couple's name until Hulu releases the next episode of The Mindy Project on Tuesday.
