5 favorite Amy Schumer moments on the comedian's 35th birthday
Love or hate Amy Schumer, you can't deny that her comedy is bold and provocative. And most importantly, hilarious to those who love her, which we do.
On the Inside Amy Schumer star's 35th birthday we at EntertainThis! decided to compile some of our favorite Amy moments of the past year, to celebrate more biting, feminist commentary to come.
1. When she befriended Jennifer Lawrence last summer and they went boating.
The two wrote a screenplay together where they obviously play foul-mouthed sisters.
2. When she debuted her new man on a casual visit to the White House.
Schumer was there to support gun control, and conveniently had the opportunity to introduce her boyfriend to her cousin, Sen. Chuck Schumer.
3. When she slammed Glamour for that plus-size issue.
The actress shared a snap of her name in the magazine on Instagram, writing, “I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size,” before going on to criticize the magazine. "@glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me,” she wrote, claiming that she’s actually between a size 6 and 8.
Her critiques sparked a conversation about the plus-size label and how detrimental it can be for women's body image issues.
4. When she took on body shamers on Inside Amy Schumer alongside Lena Dunham.
In the sketch, "Size 12," from Inside Amy Schumer, the pair takes on the very fraught and often emotionally scarring experience of trying to find average sizes in a world of size zeroes.
Her sketches have been on point lately, with all the biting political humor we know and love her for.
5. When she (literally) bared all for her book, The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo.
Her literary debut, which will “feature personal and observational stories from Schumer that range from the raunchy to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing,” is set for Aug. 16.
