Yee-haw! Mindy treks it down to Texas on 'The Mindy Project'
Who needs southern hospitality when you have Mindy-isms?
On Tuesday's Mindy Project our leading lady reluctantly boarded a plane to visit Peter (Adam Pally) and Lauren (Tracey Wigfield) for an episode titled Under The Texan Sun.
Did a trip down south help Mindy get her groove back? Not exactly. She still put the "lone" in Lone Star State, but she had these Mindy moments along the way.
1. When she met the new lady in Danny's life
So, your ex has updated the old profile picture, and his/her new love is front and center? Barf in a bag.
Poor Mindy had to leave her baby with Dr. C's new chick, Eliza, when she left for Austin.
More like Eliza Doolittle to mommy's love for Leo, as Mindy knows.
"Bye, Leo. I love you," she said as Eliza whisked him away. "Nothing can replace a mother's love."
2. And described her dream guy to Peter
After landing in the Live Music Capital of the World where tacos and Tecate are king, Mindy laid it all out on the line for her BFF.
"God, Peter, why is it so hard to find one, single, sane, rich, hot cunnilingus addict in New York City?"
We can say from first-hand experience, it's not because they're hiding them in another part of the country.
3. When she shutdown the nanny who suggested she read a book
Devil, be gone! Just because there aren't any TVs in Lauren and Peter's house does not mean we have to prepare for the apocalypse, Rosa.
"A book?" Mindy asked, baffled. "Why don't you go to Hel--I'm so sorry. I went too far. Gonna go." Mindy would've finished her sentence if Lauren's son, Henry, wasn't in the room.
4. Then got pricked by cacti
While perusing Lauren's lavish succulent garden, Mindy went to snap a pic and got stuck by a cactus, and then another.
For a brief moment she was basically the ball in their cacti ping pong — or, the unfortunate meat in a Butabi brother Night at the Roxbury sandwich.
5. When she got rescued by Diego
When Mindy attempted to flirt with "the pre-eminent water feature designer of the American Southwest," who you should under no circumstances refer to as a "pool boy," she fell into the pool after a bee landed on her chest.
When Diego offered to help her out of the pool, Mindy said, "Don't make those labor noises when you're picking me up. It's not that bad." And they could hear our laughter Deep in the Heart of Texas.
