Beyoncé had the perfect reaction to this fan's Afro

When Ribicca Mamuye and Hamdi Mohamed first purchased their tickets to Beyoncé’s Formation tour, the Abyssinia creator and political organizer weren’t expecting to receive the royal blessing.

But that’s exactly what they got after Queen Bey spotted the natural-haired fans in the crowd at her May 18 tour stop at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field. In a now-viral video captured by Mamuye's boyfriend, the Lemonade artist is seen crooning Daddy Lessons, the country-tinged track from her latest LP, before swinging her head to face the camera. She then points to Mamuye and Mohamed, pats her own crown in recognition of Mamuye’s Afro and gives a thumbs-up.

“It’s one thing to be that close to Beyoncé and for her to take two seconds (to) compliment you… It’s so surreal,” Mamuye told BuzzFeed on Thursday. “I got more than … my money’s worth.”

And she has Mohamed to thank. Mamuye originally tied her hair up at the start of the show to avoid “bothering the people behind” her. But Mohamed, who likes her "baby hair with Afros," wasn't having any of it.

“I literally took the hair tie out of her hair,” Mohamed told BuzzFeed. “I said, ‘Your hair is beautiful, let it out.’”

In a world where black women’s natural hair is still stigmatized and policed, we could all use more of that message. And of course, an endorsement from our favorite ***Flawless artist doesn’t hurt.
