Watch Serena Williams pelt a heckler with tennis balls in the name of womankind

It’s not always all love on the tennis court and Serena Williams knows that all too well.

Over the course of her nearly 20-year-long career, the defending Wimbledon champion has received a volley of racist and sexist vitriol. But recently, Williams — who netted Glamour's July 2016 cover star slate — decided to serve the heat right back.

In a YouTube video shared by Glamour on Tuesday, Williams appears on-screen not to tell misogynists to kiss her ace (sadly) but instead "to express some of the frustrations that I have about the obnoxious things that men sometimes say about women. "I’m doing this for all womankind," she assures the camera before adding, "I’m kind of doing it for me too on the low."

What happens next is a smashing tribute to any woman who has ever been told to "calm down" and "smile more."
