This remake proves feminism is the spice 'Wannabe' needed all along

Finally, some meaning has been given to "zigazig ah."

Two decades after its release, new feminist life has been breathed into the Spice Girls' hit, Wannabe.

In the video, women from around the world tell us what they "really really want." An end to violence against girls, quality education for all girls, stopping child marriage, and equal pay for equal work are on the agenda of those featured.

Members of the Spice Girls have shared the video on Twitter. "@TheGlobalGoals always supporting," Emma Bunton wrote. Melanie C tweeted that she was, "Flattered and honoured that our crazy song is being used so beautifully." Victoria Beckham shared a message of support, "20 years on - Girl Power being used to empower a new generation. So proud of @TheGlobalGoals."

The video is an effort of Project Everyone, an organization that wants to promote the Sustainable Development Goals. It asks that social media users share what they would like to see happen for girls and women using #WhatIReallyReallyWant, and the messages will be shared with world leaders at the UN in September.

Posh Spice and others have already shared their wishes on Twitter.
