Sofia Vergara shows zest for life with lemon-themed birthday party

Sofia Vergara's 44th birthday hit a sour note. The good news is it was fully intended.

The Modern Family star celebrated the day of her birth with a lemon-themed extravaganza, and the actress' son, Manolo Gonzalez-Ripoll Vergara, shared video of the party preparations on Instagram.

He showed followers the Limoncello bar, enough lemons in a bowl to satisfy The Real Housewives of Orange County's Shannon Beador, and a cute lemon costume, which his mom wore.

We wonder if the actress might've been inspired by these citrusy fashions, which include items from her Hot Pursuit co-star Reese Witherspoon's label, Draper James. Or, maybe it was Queen Bey's epic Lemonade release?

Whatever the inspo, Vergara seemed to have a good time at her bash until her 23-year-old son wished her a happy birthday in this video.

While Vergara's hubby, Joe Manganiello, gave a thumbs up in the background, Vergara pushed her son out of the frame before he could reveal her real age. And, because he knows what's good for him, Manolo made up for his near slip up in the caption.

Manolo wasn't the only one to give Vergara a birthday social media shout-out. Manganiello and his wife's Modern Family co-stars took to Instagram to wish the Colombia-born beauty a very happy birthday.
