Beyonce gets one step closer to an EGOT with Emmy nomination for 'Lemonade'
Beyoncé is now one step closer to an EGOT, the quadruple crown of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
The nominations for the 68th annual Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and Queen Bey landed on the list for her HBO short film Lemonade in the outstanding directing for a variety special category alongside collaborator Kahlil Joseph.
Lemonade nabbed a total of four nominations, including outstanding variety special and production design and picture editing in the variety special category.
It's the first directing nomination for the singer, who was also nominated in 2013 for short-format live-action entertainment for her Super Bowl XLVII halftime show and in 2015 in the outstanding special class program category for her On the Run Tour: Beyoncé and Jay Z concert film.
