Laverne Cox shuts down nose job rumors: ‘The surgeon is Snapchat’
Laverne Cox did not get a nose job. And in case her followers had any Doubt, the entertainment juggernaut quickly dispelled the cosmetic surgery rumors early Tuesday morning.
"For everyone who thinks I had a nose job, the surgeon is snapchat,” Cox asserted, posting an unedited image of herself on Instagram alongside a filtered photograph, which accentuated her contour. "The first photo has #nofilter. The second has the #snapchat beauty filter.”
The actress and LGBT advocate then affirmed the importance of self-confidence — outside of the elusive perfect selfie. "I try to love, embrace and accept myself everyday, filter or no filter, make up or no makeup, weave or no weave,” she wrote. “Filters are fun but they are no substitute for me waking up, looking in the mirror and seeing the unfiltered me as beautiful and worthy of acceptance and love."
After addressing the gossip, Cox then got back to Instagramming history, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at the first day of principal photography for the upcoming CBS legal pilot, Doubt. Per Deadline, Cox is the first transgender star to play a main character in a broadcast network television show.
