Obama is just like us, uses 'Lose Yourself' to get hype

Doesn't matter who you are: Eminem's seminal psyche-up song works on everybody — even the leader of the free world. (Though we — and Michael Phelps — would argue that 'Till I Collapse  is vastly underrated in this regard.)

Complex Magazine learned President Barack Obama listened to Lose Yourself to get hyped before walking out on stage to defend his legacy at the Democratic National Convention.

About 20 seconds into this backstage video, you can spot POTUS' head and shoulders pulsing to these lines: "The clocks run out, times up, over, blaow! Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity."

And can you blame him? The song just works, even 14 years after its release.

There's even scientific evidence that Eminem helps boost performance. British researchers at Hartpury University Center tested the motivational impact of his music and found it boosts performance by up to 10%. Even better, you can hand over your drug test to the officials confident in the knowledge that you won't test positive for anything but grit and determination. Win-win, we say.
