Frank Ocean pays tribute to Trayvon Martin in insane new 'Nikes' video

Apple Music promised there'd be more to come from Frank Ocean after he dropped his moody, sometimes meandering visual album Endless on the service late Thursday night.

Now, the enigmatic singer has delivered in a big way with a totally bonkers and visually arresting video for Nikes, which makes that excruciating four-year wait for new music all seem worth it. Shifting between falsetto and Auto-Tuned vocals, Ocean rap-sings about lust and loneliness, after name-checking the late A$AP Yams, Pimp C and Trayvon Martin ("That [n-word] look just like me"). It's a sticky summer jam with an equally unforgettable visual, which eclipses Pyramids as Ocean's craziest (and best) yet.

Shots of Ocean wearing winged eyeliner and covered in glitter bookend the nearly five-minute clip, which also includes a rapping chihuahua, dancing devil, burning man, a woman lying on piles of money, and another with light emanating from between her legs. It's safe to say, we have an early frontrunner for video of the year at next year's VMAs.

As for those "two versions" Ocean teased on his Tumblr page early last year? "I got two versions" is the opening lyric of Nikes, although we now take it to mean two very different albums to follow up his debut Channel Orange. Be on the lookout for more music this weekend, but in the meantime, check out his latest NSFW video on Apple Music.
