Drake stirred up drama on Meek Mill's Philly home turf
Drake performed in Meek Mill's hometown of Philadelphia Sunday night, the first time since the two rappers started trading hostile verses last summer.
And "hostile" was the tone of the evening, as Drizzy lashed out at Meek onstage during his Summer Sixteen tour stop, resulting in a near-confrontation that reportedly ignited after the show.
Taking the stage wearing an Allen Iverson jersey, Drake allegedly claimed that "Philly adopted [him]" before adding the line "Man you not really from Philly and they can tell (expletive)” to the lyrics of his 2015 Meek diss track Still Here.
Also on the setlist was Back to Back, to which he added a few lines to incite the crowd. "Just remember when you watch that video over and over tonight, it's not about your city," he said. "I love your city. You did that (expletive) to your (expletive) self, boy."
Unsurprisingly, Meek didn't take kindly to being dragged on home turf. According to Uproxx, he responded in an Instagram post (which he later deleted) saying his entourage tried to confront him backstage, but Drake had "Philadelphia SWAT" with him for protection.
