Podcast pick of the week: 'Room Where It's Happening'

Looking for something new to listen to while you drive to work/go for a walk/wash the dishes? We're here for you. In our new weekly series, we're highlighting a podcast, audio personality or specific story worth hearing.

This week's pick: The Room Where It's Happening

"If you listen, that would be enough," says Travon Free while promoting the Hamilton super-fan podcast.

And really, if you are a musical geek, the 45-minute show co-hosted by comedy writers Free (Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons) and Mike Drucker (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) will indeed satisfy your daily craving to talk about Lin-Manuel Miranda and his multiple-Tony-winning Broadway show. Until another episode, at least.

Why it's ripe for listening

The podcast is Miranda-approved! And it will feature guests including Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and Alexander Hamilton biographer Ron Chernow.

On "Adam Savage: Hamilton is Our Shakespeare," the first episode of The Room Where It's Happening, guest Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame proves he is as "ludicrously obsessed" with Hamilton as he says he is. He and the hosts dissect lyrics (Did you realize Aaron Burr sings "wait for it" right after Alexander Hamilton says "When so many have died," basically foreshadowing his murder of Hamilton?) and discuss set pieces (Burr gets really bright after standing on a tabletop, because it's a mirror.).

Memorable Line

To the tune of the song Right Hand Man and line "here comes the general," Free recounts an instance of Hamilton improv that cemented his obsession.

"I did, 'Here comes the dinner rolls.' I did it out loud... My girlfriend calls Hamilton my side chick."
