James Corden loses it over surprise birthday performance from Montell Jordan
It takes a lot for James Corden to get starstruck.
The Late Late Show host has held his own, lifting his voice with the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sia, Mariah Carey, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Adele, and putting his hands up with Michelle Obama. But nothing could have prepared the ringleader of CBS’ ratings juggernaut for a sing-along with Montell Jordan.
In honor of Corden’s 38th birthday on Monday, Late Late Show execs rallied Jordan — along with Corden's family, his favorite soccer player Mark Noble and his favorite band O-Town — to wish the host a happy birthday, a move which briefly brought Corden to tears.
That is, until Jordan walked off-camera and joined Corden in the studio to perform his favorite song — and perhaps the greatest gift of the 90s —This Is How We Do It.
