Beyonce wore angel wings to the VMAs, brought Blue Ivy as her date

As if Beyoncé wasn't already a celestial being, she wore giant wings to the Video Music Awards.

Ahead of her performance at the awards later Sunday night, Bey arrived on the red (er, white) carpet in a slinky nude gown from Francesco Scognamiglio's Fall 2016 Couture line, accented with sequins and mint green feathered wings perched on her shoulders.

And those emerald earrings.

The dress is from Scognamiglio's first couture collection, though Bey, up on the trends, wore a Swarovski covered bomber jacket and pants from the designer in Milan during her Formation tour.

Her date for the night was Blue Ivy, looking all grown up with a tiara over her long braids and high-tops peeking out from under her tulle skirt.

The mother-daughter duo were also joined by a handful of women who also starred in Bey's visual album Lemonade, including Quvenzhané Wallis, Chloe and Halle Bailey and model Winnie Harlow.

On a more somber note, the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, and Mike Brown also joined the singer to walk the carpet.

Stay tuned for Bey's VMAs performance later in the show.
