Britney Spears felt up G-Eazy during her shaky VMAs performance
The last time Britney Spears sang (well, lip-synched) at the VIdeo Music Awards in 2007, it was a notorious mess.
Taking the VMAs stage to perform for the first time in nearly a decade, Spears performed her new single Make Me with rapper G-Eazy.
And the pair got almost too close for comfort with their onstage moves.
Did Britney deliver the comeback performance that fans were hoping for? On the heels of her new release Glory, her VMAs outing had a lot in common with her new album: in-your-face sexy and very safe. And Spears also had the timeslot right after Beyonce's blockbuster Lemonade medley, a performance that'd be nearly impossible for anyone to follow.
But between lip-synching her way through the song and seeming like the dancers' beat was just escaping her, Spears' performance wasn't 2007-level bad, but it wasn't great — and her yellow sequined getup didn't help. Maybe feeling up G-Eazy was the only way she could stay interesting?
