'Bachelor in Paradise': Ashley Iaconetti misses out on her fairy tale ending
Just when we thought Ashley Iaconetti wouldn't have to cry anymore tears.
During Monday night's rose ceremony, Wells Adams decided to give his rose to the girl you'd think would've secured a tissue endorsement deal by now over Jami Letain in part one of the Bachelor in Paradise season finale.
The fourth point of this love square and today's winner of the Yas Queen Award, Shushanna Mkrtychyan, pulled herself out of the rose race because she didn't want to fight for love.
When Wells gave Ashley I. the stem he raised our suspicions, "I don't know where this is going to go," he told her. "But I know that I want at least one more date with you."
That additional date was also tied to a night in a fantasy suite. Ashley I., who has openly talked about her virginity, was enthusiastic about the overnight date. "I definitely want to go to the fantasy suite with Wells," she confided in the cameras. "It's very exciting that I will have Wells locked in a room with me. You're mine for the next 12 hours."
But Wells was not as confident. "I feel very, very uncomfortable having a night (in the) fantasy suite," he shared in an interview. "If it's all or nothing, if it's the date and the fantasy suite, then it's time for me to break up with Ashley."
So he did and explained to her that going to the fantasy suite would be against his character. "And I know that I care a lot about you, but I don't know where this is going," he said. "I can't say something is that isn't... but I know I gotta go."
Before making his exit, Wells told the cameras he had concerns he might regret breaking things off with Ashley I. the way Izzy Goodkind regretted ending things with Vinny Ventiera. As we saw on Monday's episode, we cannot turn back time. After Izzy got dumped by Brett Melnick, she left Paradise and called Vinny from the car with hopes of going to see him and working things out.
In a moment that we know made Vinny's mom even prouder, he asserted his self-worth.
"You know obviously what happened, it really just blindsided me, you wanting to throw it all away to some guy with a lamp was pretty shallow," Vinny told her. "When that happened, literally, all the feelings that I had just went out the window. I just can't be with somebody like that. For me, there's really just no coming back from what happened."
Part two of the Bachelor in Paradise season finale airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
