Watch Nicki Minaj melt down over meeting her idol Lauryn Hill
Back before she became "Nicki Minaj," Onika Maraj was a high schooler at NYC's star-making LaGuardia High School with a Lauryn Hill quote in her yearbook: "To survive is to stay alive in the face of opposition."
Decades later, the rapper's Lauryn Hill idolization came full circle when her idol visited her in her dressing room after they both performed at the TIDAL X benefit concert.
Minaj posted about the "out of body" experience on Instagram, sharing a video of her bowing at Hill's feet and declaring her love for the singer.
“I’m in love with you," Minaj says in the video. "I’m in love with your spirit, your mind, everything about you."
"I quoted her in my HS YEARBOOK!!!!!" Minaj wrote in a subsequent post, sharing a picture of her and her queen.
So...time for a collaboration, please?
