'24: Legacy' trailer gets World Series premiere

Tick-tock.

As if the World Series didn't offer enough tension, Fox kicked off Game 1 festivities Tuesday with a new trailer for 24: Legacy, the latest version of the real-time thriller that will premiere after the Super Bowl on Feb. 5.

Jack Bauer may be gone, but former Army Ranger Eric Carter (Corey Hawkins) will be racing the clock to save the country from an imminent terrorist threat. Legacy also stars Miranda Otto (Homeland) and Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue, The West Wing).

In a July interview with Paste BN at San Diego Comic-Con, Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, The Walking Dead) acknowledged he had big shoes to fill, taking over after Kiefer Sutherland's iconic portrayal of Jack in the popular Fox series that premiered shortly after 9/11.

"I was such a fan and still am of the show. The real-time premise changed the face of television," Hawkins said. "The idea of a new hero for a new day sang to me."
