Return to sender: Seth Meyers is so over Hillary Clinton’s emails
Seth Meyers is not here for an “October surprise” or “ambiguity bomb.”
FBI Director James Comey announced he would probe emails that he believed were “pertinent to the investigation” of Hillary Clinton’s personal email server in a letter Meyers compared to a vague voicemail simply saying, “We need to talk.” And we all know those are the worst.
The emails, which we don’t know much about as of yet, were discovered on Anthony Weiner’s computer, the estranged husband of longtime Clinton aide, Huma Abedin.
While Clinton’s opponent, Donald Trump, has promoted the news as a bigger scandal that Watergate, Meyers thinks the media is losing sight of bigger issues.
“Donald Trump still hasn’t released his tax returns,” the Late Night host began, “Twelve women have accused him of sexual assault, and he’s going on trial for fraud for Trump University in November, but now the only thing the media is talking about is emails. It’s like if during the O.J. (Simpson) trial, everyone was focused on whether or not the Ford Bronco had up-to-date registration.”
