Wonder Woman is here to save the world. And superhero movies in general.

A new trailer for the upcoming solo Wonder Woman flick arrived on Thursday and it's a magical, empowering, exciting vision of a female superhero. And we couldn't be more excited for it.

Watch the trailer above.

The film will tell Wonder Woman's (the amazing, flawless Gal Gadot) origin story, which, despite her overall popularity, is not that well known. After a quick nod to her introduction in Batman v Superman, the trailer shows Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crash-landing on the Amazons' island of Themyscira, and Wonder Woman's choice to join him in the human world and help protect and save it.

“I used to want to save the world. This beautiful place,” Diana says. “But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within. I learned this the hard way, a long, long time ago.”

With World War I raging and super-villains running amok, the world in the movie needs Wonder Woman. And so does the world outside of the movie.

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2, 2017.
