Surprise! Tinashe's new album 'Nightride' has arrived

One new album just isn't enough for Tinashe.

On Friday morning, her new 15-song album, Nightride, arrived by surprise, her first new project since 2014's Aquarius.

The forthcoming album she previously announced, Joyride, is following in the spring. "The majority of [Joyride] was already there, so it wasn't like that much changed," she told Rolling Stone. "I see [Nightride and Joyride] as two things that are equally the same."

The singer gave fans a two-hour warning on Twitter Thursday night.

"I have been working on [Nightride] quietly for two years alongside Joyride," she wrote.

Joyride was originally scheduled for a spring 2016 release, before it was delayed. Tinashe also cut her tour short to spend more time in the studio. As her new double-LP release proves, she had quite a productive year.
