Everything Gigi Hadid wore at the American Music Awards, ranked

Gigi Hadid was thinking about wearing ten different outfits for hosting Sunday night's American Music Awards with Jay Pharoah, but she ultimately went for half the number of looks for the show.

"Some shots are a little close-up so you miss the outfit. So we went with five," she told E! on the red carpet. "They're five that, I'm like, really happy about. So I feel like it's better to do that than force it."

We, too, are pretty happy about those five looks, plus the one Hadid wore for arrivals. Which were all complimented by her celebrity hairstylist Bryce Scarlett, who added volume to the top of her hair while brushing her curls back, à la Lauren Hutton.

Here's a ranking of the supermodel's dresses.

1. Back in black by Nicolas Jebran

This one was anything but a basic little black dress.

2. One shoulder, red Atelier Versace

While in this red, cutout number, Hadid's Melania Trump impersonation sparked more conversation than the dress did. But we still noticed the stunning outfit!

3. Off-the-shoulder Roberto Cavalli

The sheer number was tough to wear on a rainy red carpet, but the supermodel easily pulled off the couture look. Fans had mixed opinions of the lacy dress, with some calling the outfit "a doily."

4. Cropped jacket and shorts from Julien MacDonald 

The proportions on this glitzy combo would probably look frumpy on anyone else.

5. Nude crocodile from Julien MacDonald 

That's a lot of crocodile for our taste, but it flatters Hadid's figure nicely.

6. See-through track suit by Atelier Versace 

This one just looks uncomfortable, no?
