Justin Bieber announces 2017 stadium tour, disses dating apps

If you missed Justin Bieber's Purpose tour before it traveled overseas, you're in luck.

Bieber, who's played 100-plus shows since kicking off his tour in March, visited Ellen Monday to announce he's returning for his first-ever stadium tour in the U.S., including a previously-announced date at the Rose Bowl in August.

Luckily for fans, Bieber playing stadiums instead of arenas means far more available tickets and, most likely, a more elaborate production. Attendances for Bieber's U.S. arena dates earlier this year ranged between 12,000 and 15,000, in venues like NYC's Madison Square Garden and D.C's Verizon Center. For his new dates, he'll likely draw crowds comparable to Taylor Swift's 1989 tour, whose stadium shows had a capacity closer to 40,000-50,000.

The singer's Purpose tour has been full of questionable interactions with his fans, including reports that Bieber asked a U.K. audience to "relax" and punched someone in the face in Spain.

But DeGeneres, who's hosted many of Bieber's announcements in the past, is looking out for the star, asking him about his dating life in an interview. He didn't take the bait.

"I am not dating anybody. Single. I’m not really looking either," he said.

"When you’re on the road, do you ever go on Tinder?" Ellen asked.

"I don’t," Bieber replied, saying he's never been on a dating app. And, considering his massive level of fame and gossip-hungry fanbase, how can you blame him?

Beyond the Rose Bowl date, other details about Bieber's new tour have yet to be announced.
