Seth Meyers takes a ‘Closer Look’ at Trump’s foreign policy, ‘conspiracy theories’

Seth Meyers has returned from his hiatus ready to dissect Donald Trump’s recent moves as president-elect.

The Late Night host took “A Closer Look” at Trump’s “shoot from the hip approach to foreign policy,” calling into question his recent calls with the prime minister of Pakistan, the president of Taiwan, and the Philippine president, which could be seen as controversial.

“When you’re dealing with foreign powers and unstable regions,” Meyers began, “you need sober, analytical thinking and a firm grasp of reality — qualities you definitely do not associate with Donald Trump. The only qualities less associated with Donald Trump are modesty and a dancer’s body.”

Meyers also faulted Trump for “peddling conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality,” citing his tweet that claimed millions voted illegally.

“Kinda like how the Cleveland Indians won the World Series if you don’t count the last two games,” Meyers quipped.

The last straw for Meyers was a comment made by Newt Gingrich to Paste BN, sharing what Trump told him: “This is really a bigger job than I thought.” After that revelation, Meyers recited the Pledge of Allegiance while face-palming.
