Stephen Colbert mocks Trump's Mark Burnett deal: 'The 'People's Choice' was Hillary Clinton'

Legendary reality TV producer Mark Burnett is potentially teaming up with Donald Trump to orchestrate his inaugural festivities, including a dramatic arrival via helicopter after he flies from Manhattan to NYC.

As he explained on the Late Show Thursday night, Colbert isn't a fan of the partnership. "This week, Trump met with Mark Burnett to start planning his inauguration," he said. "Mark Burnett is the reality TV producer behind shows like The Apprentice, Survivor and The People's Choice Awards."

"The 'people's choice,' technically this year, was Hillary Clinton," Colbert continued to applause, referencing the Democratic candidate's win in the popular vote -- she currently leads Trump by over two million votes.

"Doesn't matter, [he's] still going to be president," Colbert reminded the cheering crowd.

Also for inauguration weekend, Trump is mulling over throwing himself a victory parade in NYC. As Colbert points out, he'll be rubbing his win in the face of the borough, which overwhelmingly voted for Clinton. "In Manhattan, when Hillary Clinton won 87% of the vote?" he asked. "That's like holding a gay pride parade in Mike Pence's backyard."
