Seth Meyers gives North Carolina politics ‘A Closer Look’

Like many protesters, Seth Meyers isn’t okay with North Carolina Republicans' attempts to take power from Democratic governor-elect Roy Cooper.

“That’s like losing a bet,” the Late Night host said in the NSFW clip, “and paying with Monopoly money.”

Meyers addressed the Executive Director of the North Carolina Republican Party, Dallas Woodhouse and his defense of the Republicans’ actions, arguing that Cooper would still get access to the North Carolina Executive Mansion, among other absolutely baseline things.

“So he can’t do anything, but he gets a mansion and a ballroom?” Meyers quipped. “Does he also get a typewriter so he can work on his novel?”

The host also made fun of Woodhouse for seemingly having props prepared in an interview.

“You’re not allowed to have props. Are you the Carrot Top of politicians?” Meyers asked before pulling out his own props in jest.
