'The Real Housewives' just got a lot less fancy with Heather Dubrow's exit

Who is going to tell us what temperature wine is supposed to be stored at or inform us that customizing the shape of your ice is a thing?

Heather Dubrow informed her Heather Dubrow's World podcast listeners Friday morning that she and her Chanel flask filled with Fireball are leaving The Real Housewives of Orange Countyafter five seasons.

"After a lot of careful thought and deliberation, I have decided not to return to The Real Housewives of Orange County this season," she said reading a statement submitted to Bravo. "These past five years have been an incredible journey, and I'm so proud to have been a part of such an iconic piece of pop culture. I'm so grateful to Evolution Media, Bravo and the whole NBCU family for all of the incredible experiences and the opportunities Real Housewives of Orange County has afforded me and my family. However, at this point in my life, I have decided to go in another direction and do what’s best for my family and career. Should I change my mind, I thank Andy Cohen, Evolution and Bravo for telling me that the door is always open."

On the show, Dubrow admitted her exit was "a little bittersweet. I'm a little sad, a little nervous, a little excited." she said.

She also revealed that her decision was motivated both by her children and her desire to pursue other ventures.

"I feel like right at this particular point in time, a couple of things," she shared with her listeners. "First of all, my oldest kids are now teenagers and I just felt like they need to make their own decision about being on television and exposing their lives. And for me personally, I have some really cool, interesting opportunities going on right now that I want to explore. I don't know where they're going to go, but I want the opportunity to explore them, and I felt like I was at a tipping point, and it was time."

Dubrow admitted that her choice to leave "was not an easy decision," though she clashed with newcomer Kelly Dodd on more than one occasion. Despite the cast's turbulent trip to Ireland, Dubrow said she is "really going to miss" the group's getaways.

"Before I joined the cast I never took a girls' trip -- ever," she said. "I mean I didn't even have a bachelorette."

Drubrow revealed that she and Dodd "ended the season in a good place and texted each other and moved on in a nice way." Dubrow also wished her castmates "all the very best in season 12," before giving us a bit of hope that she might one day return.

"Never say never," she said to her audience. "You never know."
