Super Bowl: 'Hamilton' stars add 'sisterhood' to 'America the Beautiful'
It makes sense that the singers known for playing the Schuyler sisters on Broadway would add a lyric about "sisterhood."
Ahead of Super Bowl 51, original Hamilton actresses Phillipa Soo, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones sang America the Beautiful with one small lyrical tweak: Their version went "And crown thy good with brotherhood ... and sisterhood."
Yep, those last two words aren't in the original tune. Instead, they're a feminist addition that the singers themselves suggested adding (according to Alex Lacamoire, who arranged the song).
And Twitter took note.
