Stephen Colbert cracks jokes on Trump's address in live 'Late Show' episode

Stephen Colbert treated viewers to a live version of The Late Show Tuesday following President Trump's first address to Congress, which some celebs found to be quite distressing.

Colbert, who is contemplating giving up hope for Lent, began his address by chastising one news network that his buddy Jon Stewart hates. "Before it even began, CNN trolled the nation with (the) caption, 'Trump leaves White House soon,'" Colbert reported. "Don't tease. Not cool, CNN. Not cool. That's not right. What's next? Covering the president descending a staircase with the caption, 'Trump steps down'?"

Along with joking about Vice President Pence and  House Speaker Paul Ryan's matching ensembles — which Colbert deemed benefits of a "buy one, get two free suit and tie combo" —  the late-night host hassled Trump for creating new task forces to de-regulate government agencies. "We're gonna reduce government by adding people to the government," Colbert reasoned facetiously. "It's like how the key to not getting hungover is just to never stop drinking."

He also addressed the "long-awaited moment" when Trump called for Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare. "I gotta say, that must've been hard on Trump," Colbert said sympathetically. "People got so excited just hearing Obama's name."
