'Vogue Arabia' debuts with veiled Gigi Hadid on cover
Gigi Hadid has done plenty of international Vogue covers, but her latest is particularly memorable. Nay, historic.
The supemodel appears on the cover of the inaugural issue of Vogue Arabia in a beaded headscarf styled by designer Brandon Maxwell. However, she didn't go full-on modest, baring her shoulders for the photo, shot by Inez and Vinoodh.
Hadid, who's currently working the runways at Paris Fashion Week, posted the cover to her Instagram account, noting, "Being half-Palestinian, it means the world to me to be on the first-ever cover(s) of @voguearabia."
She added that she hopes the new magazine "will show another layer of the fashion industry's desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to... & learn and grow in doing so."
Vogue Arabia hits newsstands March 5.
