How did '13 Reasons' stars react to Season 2 news? Screaming, emojis, cursing

The 13 Reasons Why stars only found out hours before you did that their Netflix series is getting a second season.

So how did the young actors react?

"There's been a lot of screaming and emojis (in a text thread)," said Justin Prentice (Bryce Walker) on the MTV Movie & TV Awards carpet Sunday. Also on the nonsensical group chat: "A lot of random letters, there’s some swearing which I wont repeat, there’s 'Congratulations!' and 'I'm stuck with you [expletive] for another six months,' that sort of thing."

Though Season 1 of 13 Reasons Why, a story centered around the suicide of a teenager, was adapted from the Jay Asher novel of the same name, Prentice doesn't yet know where Season 2 will go.

"We tell the novel in the first season," he said. "I guess they decided there was more story to tell."

Prentice can't predict what will happen to his character, a high school athlete who is depicted as brutalizing Hannah Baker, who ends her life.  However, he knows what fans of the controversial series are hoping for: Bryce seeing some jail time.

"There’s a lot of lobbying in the comment sections on social media. They all want me behind bars," says Walker. "I don't know if the writers will listen."

There are no details yet on the new season's premiere date.
