Trump's meeting with Pope Francis is a blessing for Stephen Colbert

President Trump's trip abroad continues to be fodder for late night hosts. First, they roasted POTUS for that awkward photo with a glowing orb, and his sword dancing in Saudi Arabia that Seth Meyers compared to "watching your grandpa do the Electric Slide at a wedding but with a deadly weapon."

Trump's visit with the pope also inspired punchlines for Stephen Colbert. The Late Show host, who thinks the president could benefit from a Twitter-vention, joked about his visit to the Vatican Wednesday.

Colbert told his audience that the men exchanged gifts. "The pope gave Trump a copy of his 2017 peace message and his encyclical on climate change Laudato Si' and after receiving the gifts, Trump replied, 'Well I'll be reading them,'" Colbert said. "Well, no you won't. Mike Pence, I think I know what you're getting for Christmas — regift!"

It wasn't enough for Colbert to burn Trump on his own, he enlisted the help of Cartoon Pope Francis aka "Francis Dice Pope" to ridicule Trump. The animated version of the leader of the Catholic Church provided jabs about Trump's weight. "Say, Stephen, you know why Trump loves Vladimir Putin?" he asked. "'Cause he's always putting food in his face. He's Russian to the buffet."
