Demi Lovato sends emotional message to fans, releases new single

Update: Demi Lovato's new single dropped at midnight July 11, but before it did, she had a message for fans — and it was pretty emotional.

The singer tweeted a lengthy letter to her "Lovatics" Monday, which began with her sharing a lesson she remembered on her recent "inspiring trip to Hamburg.'

"No matter where we live or what our cultural backgrounds are, having emotional human connection and love are absolutely crucial for our existence and survival," she wrote in the tweet.

And for Lovato, her fans are a big part of that connection.

"I look at my followers on social media and the people I get to meet during shows," she writes. "and the kindness of every single one of you continuously blows me away."

She also thanked fans for their continuous support, even when she took a break from music to deal with mental illness.

"Thank you for allowing me to take the time I needed at the end of last year to step away from all the craziness. I'll admit, I was worried that people would get upset with me," she wrote. "But... literally every single one of you wrapped your arms around me and showed me how unwavering your love and support is."

Now energized and inspired, she says she is giving her all to this new chapter, which starts with new single Sorry Not Sorry, an upbeat dance anthem for "anyone who's ever been hated on and has risen above it.."

She added that she's made a "conscious decision" to slow down and take more time to meet and learn about her fans.

Add this to all the reasons we already love Demi!
