David Fincher gets in the heads of serial killers in Netflix's new 'Mindhunter' trailer

Three years after bringing "Amazing Amy" Dunne to the big screen in Gone Girl, David Fincher is back with another sinister drama.
Mindhunter, the filmmaker's Netflix original series (streaming Oct. 13), is based on John Douglas and Mark Olshaker's nonfiction book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, which follows the FBI's Investigative Support Unit as they try to get inside the heads of serial killers, in hopes of having an easier time identifying and catching them.
The crime show stars Jonathan Groff, who earned a Tony nomination as King George III in Hamilton, Anna Torv (Fringe) and Holt McCallany, whom Fincher directed in 1999's Fight Club, as 1970s FBI agents who interview psychopaths, but are faced with skepticism and opposition from others in their department.
Fincher, who directed the first two episodes of Netflix's House of Cards, similarly directs three episodes of Mindhunter and executive produces with Charlize Theron. You can watch the full trailer below.
