Reese Witherspoon, star of the Hallie Meyers-Shyer written and directed modern rom-com that proves the genre isn't dead, came out on top in a battle with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday's Tonight Show.

In the trivia competition called "Cooler Heads," the rules are simple. Get a question about football wrong and you are doused with a Gatorade cooler full of a mystery food or drink. Get it right and a punishment goes to your opponent.

Witherspoon's knowledge of the sport paired with Fallon's lack of insight made for one messy Tonight Show host. Covered in nacho cheese sauce, cheese puffs and Gatorade, Fallon looked like he'd made a post-game exit by rolling out of a stadium.
