Colbert, Noah and Kimmel skewer Trump over White-House tell-all claims
Fire and Fury and fun.
Late night hosts made the most out of claims from Michael Wolff's explosive tell-all about the Trump administration. Among other claims, the book alleges President Trump did not know who former Republican speaker of the House John Boehner was, and includes scathing interviews with former White House strategist Steve Bannon.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
It caught Colbert off guard when he realized that he and Bannon, who he likened to "expired hamburger meat that wished to be a real boy," were on the same page.
In Wolff's book, Bannon called the 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr., other Trump campaign officials and a Russian lawyer "treasonous."
"Oh, my. What is that?" Colbert said clutching his chest. "I agree with Steve Bannon. That old gypsy was right."
Poking fun at Trump's claim that Bannon had "nothing to do with me or my Presidency," Colbert showed a photo of the two at the White House. "Again, here's Bannon with Trump in the Oval Office," Colbert said, "having nothing to do with him."

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah
Speaking to the book's claims he deemed Bravo-worthy, Noah told viewers, "It sounds like The Real Housewives of Pennsylvania Avenue."
The late night host acknowledged that he wasn't entirely confident the book that White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders called "complete fantasy and full of tabloid gossip" told the truth, but Noah felt that doubt made it a fitting scandal for the Trump administration.
"As entertaining as it is, I don't know how much of this book is accurate, and how much is exaggerated, but in a way that's what makes it a perfect scandal for this White House: bizarre, unverified, fraudulent claims," said Noah.

Jimmy Kimmel Live
Kimmel told his audience that the fact Trump's lawyer sent a cease-and-desist letter to Wolff and the book's publisher piqued his interest.
"I wasn't gonna buy the book. I was just going to read the excerpts in magazines and move on, but now that Trump's lawyers are going all out to try and stop it from being published, I'm buying 20 copies," Kimmel said. "I can't buy enough of this book. I'll buy it for my parents, my in-laws, my cousins. I am gonna walk up and down my block stuffing books into my neighbors mailboxes, okay?"
